Écume des Jours

This project is an expression of a design position; a perspective on what luxury means, and what it demands of the designer.

Luxury, at its highest register, is not perfection. It is authenticity. It is the refusal to sand away what makes a material real: the grain of olivewood that was never two trees alike, the swirl of green marble that took millennia to form, the pile of a hand-knotted Berber rug that carries the mark of the hands that made it. These are not imperfections to be corrected. They are the proof that something lived.
Écume des Jours departs from this premise. The suite is conceived as a sensory experience before it is a visual one, to be inhabited with all five
senses. The warmth of béton ciré underfoot. The texture of ribbed olive velvet against the flat plane of wild silk. The cold precision of nickel against the organic irregularity of hand-blown glass. The scent of living plants in a
bathroom that opens to sky and light. Sound absorbed by wool, by silk, by stone.

Nothing is decorative. Everything is consequential.
